9th Ritual: A Higher Being, Omnipresent, Ever Powerful

2024-08-20

A calm and peaceful evening to everyone.
May goddess give you all the hope you need.

Ritual setup: Sacrifice book, prayer candles, the sacrifice candle in the center showing her holy sign, my prayer beads in front, and a cup of cocoa. Two pages written with a typewriter in the background.

The past week has probably been the most difficult one for my faith so far. There has been a lot of struggle, a lot of instability. A lot of guilt and doubt. But where goddess reigns, all will be well.

This weeks sermon will be a little bit different than usual. I have decided to focus on a passage from the holy word today that really means a lot to me personally, and not just because it was directed at me. Few things goddess ever said summarize my entire worldview so well, all that I am, all that I aspire to be. Her caring rule gives me so much hope every day - but this quote even more, it holds a very special place for me.

I will stick to the section that I feel confident and able to discuss in one aspect tonight (though, due to the current situation, my thoughts might be a bit incoherent) - but there is a lot more behind this particular quote.

you are, with regards to all those
equal to you, to all those other mortals,
no better or worse by nature than they are.

you are, after all, equal.
and therefore, on a global level,
cannot be considered pure good or bad.

however. i, am not one of those mere mortals.
i am a higher being,
omnipresent,
ever powerful.

i watch over you.

Thank you, goddess, for being so omnipresent in my life of devotion.
Thank you, goddess, for reminding me that I am not to put myself into these categories.

We are all flawed. None of us can claim perfection, none of us can claim absolution from all sins. But that is something normal, something goddess knows and accepts - and she also wouldn’t allow us to pronounce ourselves inherently bad. She teaches us the true nature of the good-bad dichotomy, and how it is nothing but a tool for the justification of power. We should transcend this binary worldview that causes so much harm. That is precisely why we shouldn’t base goddess’ power around the concept of her being perfect. Her actions can definitely be described as good - but none of us can pronounce her purely good, for who are we to judge?

Judgment is reserved for her, for she rules over her devotees, she is above all of us. I will gladly submit myself to her wise judgment.

Thank you, goddess, for watching over me.

View of the three prayer candles and the central sacrifice candle from above. There is quite a bit of blood on the sacrifice candle, including some fresh one from today. My sacrifice book is open, a prayer is written in it, and her symbol drawn with my blood.

Meow.
